Me and the Sky

I watched as the eastern horizon

warmed and caught fire,

the sickle moon

reflecting his light

as she faded into sleep.

And the mist

swirling about the stands of trees

and farmland dissipated,

rejoining the lavender, blue,

and brightening orange,

as the sky exploded

into dawn.
