Colorectal Cancer Haiku

Once I was lovely.

Soft bellied, if sometimes large,

I prided myself

On the smooth softness

of an abdomen not marred

by the birth of a child.

Fate would have it though

that my internal workings

would cease to follow

the sage advice of

of sound genetic planning,

and throw a party,

wasting years of my

life, burning future blue prints,

eradicating

any choices I

may have decided upon

concerning future

generations, or

the possibility of

rejoining derby

Fuck you cancer.
