Dandylions

Sunbursts on long stalks,

slender and pale, rising up

 to drink the sunshine.

Yellow star hearts close themselves,

heads folding inward against

the moons soft dewy kiss,

then unfolding again to greet

a sky now clearing of darkness.

Golden gauze disappears,

to be replaced by

downy white fay-like dancing gowns,

and tiny black clogs.

The wind comes rushing,

sending slender stalks trembling.

Ivory dresses go crashing,

black clogs go dancing,

rendering visible now,

the spiraling wind.
